Futuroscope is a French theme park.

The Futuroscope wanted to build a theme park in China. In October 1994, Shenzhen of China and Vienne of France became Friendship Sister Cities through the efforts of Mr. Rene Monory who was then the President of the Senate of France and the Chairman of the Vienne Department Council. The project was proposed to Shenzhen then. In 1997, the Futuroscopes architect Denis Laming went to Shenzhen to promote this project again. In 2003, the project was approved by Shenzhen Municipal Government. It is under a joint venture with Shenzhen Tourism Group with an investment of 500 million RMB.
