FurAffinity

FurAffinity is a furry online art archive based on deviantART's template. FurAffinity allows drawn pornography, though a viewer must be logged in and over 18 to view this material. Most of the pornography on the site is fetish-related, ranging from mildly strange to extremely disturbing to the average person. Examples of said eccentric fetishes include inflation, vorephilia, tentacle rape, BDSM and watersports. Users are given the option to browse through the galleries with a healthy number of fetishes set as categories.

The site is not accurately described as work safe: many illustrations (or rarely, writing) of a mature or adult nature slip through, and guests without an account or users with their age set below 18 can view them. More often than not, some artists' work can be objectional or disturbing at a sexual level without having to be pornographic. User icons or avatars uploaded by the users, which are public regardless of content, may also be pornographic in nature.

FurAffinity was created in late 2004, shortly after another art archive, Sheezyart, banned all pornographic material from its servers. The ban caused many members of the furry subculture to announce their immediate departure from the Sheezyart community, and that they were building their own art archives, which featured the mildly shocking prospect of allowing users to post as much furry pornographic material as they would like to. The majority of these envisioned projects either went into obscurity due to lack of commitment, or were completely ignored. Along with y!Gallery, Furaffinity is one of the very few art archive websites which not only did go into development, but actually did go online and populated (despite the bumpy February-April 2005, where the site sufferred from downtime either through server change, database errors or alleged "hacker" attempts). Many artists on Sheezyart who specializes in "adult material" moved to FurAffinity.
