Tohru Fujisawa

(Redirected from Fujisawa Tôru)

Tohru Fujisawa (藤沢とおる Fujisawa Tōru) is a Japanese mangaka (creator of Manga). His name is romanized as Tohru Fujisawa on the TOKYOPOP English-language Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO) books, while it is romanized as Toru Fujisawa on the Kodansha bilingual releases.

Among Fujisawa's works is Great Teacher Onizuka, a 25-part series about a biker's attempts to become and remain a teacher.

There are another two series (prequels) involving the lead character Eikichi Onizuka.

  • Bad Company
  • Shōnan Jun-ai Gumi.

Shōnan Jun-ai Gumi talks about Onizuka and his partner Ryuuji, posing as nerds to get girls after transferring to a new high school.

Bad Company tells how Eikichi met Ryuji, and despite coming before Shōnan Junai Gumi it was written after it, as a prequel.

Some other series he has had published is Rose Hip Rose, Rose Hip Zero and Tokko. Unlike GTO, Shonan Junai Gumi and Bad Company because the other series do not have anything to do with Onizuka and have less comedy and more drama and action.
