Fujin
Fujin is the Japanese god of the wind and one of the eldest Shinto gods. He was present at the creation of the world and when he first let the winds out of his bag, they cleared the morning mists and filled the space between heaven and earth so the sun shone. He is portrayed as a terrifying dark demon wearing a leopard skin, carrying a large bag of winds on his shoulders.
The name "Fujin" has appeared as characters in several videogames, including Mortal Kombat and Final Fantasy VIII. Neither character bears any real resemblance to their namesake.
About Fujin in Final Fantasy VIII
Fujin is a silver-haired woman with an eyepatch. She is one of Seifer's "sidekicks" at Balamb Garden. Fujin speaks almost exclusively in loud, single-word sentences (i.e. "RAGE," "SHOCK,".) She and her partner, Raijin, assist Seifer through his service to the sorcerer Edea, but they are sent away when Seifer realizes that his fight is his alone.
About Fujin in Mortal Kombat
One of the few gods in the Mortal Kombat universe that we see, Fujin made his first appearance in the spin-off game Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero. He appears to be a tall, ageless human with long white hair bound in a pony tail and glowing white eyes. Although more indifferent and abstract than Raiden, Fujin is also concerned with the fate of Earthrealm. He fought with the Forces of Light against the Fallen Elder God Shinnok. It is unclear whether or not Fujin ascended to the position of protector of Earthrealm after Raiden was elevated to the status of Elder God.
