FoxBox (sports)

Fox Box was Fox Television's term for the chyron used during Fox's sports broadcasts of baseball and the National Football League, among others, which displayed the score of the game and other real-time information (time left in period/baseball inning, football down and yards-to-go, whether anyone was on a base in baseball, speed of baseball pitches, etc.) in the upper left corner of the screen during the game. For baseball broadcasts, it would be turned off when something really important happened (Mark McGwire's record-breaking 62nd home-run in 1998, the last out of the World Series, et cetera). In 2001, Fox discontinued the box in favor of a header that covers the very top of the screen which provides the same information.
