Foveola suprameatica

The foveola suprameatica is an anatomical structure of the human temporal bone, also called suprameatal pit, fossa suprameatalis, supramastoid fossa or suprameatal triangle.

It is a small triangular depression at the junction of the posterior and superior borders of the external acoustic meatus, posterior to the suprameatal spine.

It has been also named Macewen's triangle, in honor of Sir William Macewen (1864–1924), a Scottish surgeon who studied it.
