Follow me up to Carlow

"Follow Me Up to Carlow" is a folk song about Fiach (Feach) McHugh O'Byrne defeating 800 English soldiers in the Battle of Glenmalure in 1580. It is one of the most graphically violent of all Irish folk songs, containing the line such as "From Tassagart to Clonmore, there flows a steam of Saxon gore..." and "...now for Black FitzWillima's head, we'll send it over dripping red, to Queen Liza and her ladies." It has been performed by numerous Irish folk bands, notably Planxty, on the debut album.
