Fo Guang Shan

Fó Guāng Shān (佛光山) ("Buddha's Light Mountain") is one of the two large Buddhist organizations in Taiwan (the other being Tzu-Chi). It is led by Master Hsing Yun. The headquarters of the organization are in Kaohsiung, and it maintains a worldwide presence. Its headquarters in the United States are near Los Angeles, at a large temple called Hsi Lai Temple. Its headquarters in Australia are at Nan Tien Temple.

Objectives of Fo Guang Shan

  • To benefit society through charitable programs
  • To purify human hearts and minds through Buddhist practice
