Flecainide/Temp

Flecainide (FLEK-ai-nide) is a Vaughn-Williams class IC antiarrhythmic drug, used to treat a variety of arrhythmias. It is sold in the U.S. only by prescription, under the brand name TAMBOCOR in 50 mg, 100 mg and 150 mg tablets. Flecainide is a type of sodium blocker drug, which acts by slowing cardiac conduction.

It should be stored at room temperature, away from damp places and away from heat and direct light.

It should not be used with patients that have structural heart disease, 2nd or 3rd degree heart block, left hemiblock, right bundle branch block, cardiogenic shock or chronic atrial arrhythmias.

Flecainide is sometimes used for Atrial Fibrillation Cardioversion.
