Prelude
"Once dragons and men coexisted, they shared a peace forged in wisdom. All that was lost when mankind disrupted, this balance in a sudden onslaught. Defeated and humbled, dragons vanished from the realm. In time, man rebulit and spread his dominion across the land. A millennium has passed, since those dark days ended."
These words were taken from the introduction of this Fire Emblem game.
Lyn's Story (Prologue – 10)
The game starts in the country of Sacae with the player character, a tactician (whose default name is Mark), who is found by Lyndis when knocked unconscious in front of her home. Lyn eventually meet Cavaliers Kent and Sain who reveal to the player that the Sacaen is the daughter of Hasar and Madelyn, automatically making her the granddaughter of Lord Hausen and heir to the Caelin marquess title. However, Lyn's existence is an obstacle to Hausen's brother, Lundgren, who wants the title all to himself.
Meeting Eliwood (11- Final Chapter)
Eliwood's story starts a year after Lyn had been marquess of Caelin. The tactician was studying more on military tactics during the time, but the village he was in (a local village of Pherae) was attacked by bandits, Eliwood and his small crew join up to see what kind of problem happened in the village.

Characters
Playable characters and their starting classes
- Born in the Sacean Plains, her parents (Hassar and Madelyn) were killed by bandits. She lived alone in her house until she finds a tactician (the player) lying on the ground. She then decides that nothing will change if she does not leave, so she goes in search of her maternal grandfather Lord Hausen, Marquess of Caelin, who she hopes will take her in. Lyn is the first female character in the Lord class (a female lord is also called a lady).
- Eliwood (Lord)
- A swordsman on a quest to find his father, Elbert, who had been kidnapped by the Dark Druid Nergal. Eliwood battles with a group of assassins called the Black Fang, morphs, and lastly a Fire Dragon to reach his destination. He is equipped with a rapier and later the Durandal which he uses to battle Nergal. He is Roy's father. His mother Eleanora is guarded by Isadora.
- Hector (Lord)
- A young lord who is a good friend of Eliwood. He helps Eliwood with his quest to find his father. His parents died of natural causes and his older brother, Uther, is the current lord of Ositia.
- Kent (Cavalier)
- A knight of Caelin. He is accompanied by Sain to the Sacae Plains to find Lord Hausen's granddaughter, Lyndis. He has Kain's colors and Abel's stats. He can be described as virtuous to a fault.
- Sain (Cavalier)
- Kent's boon companion. He is a bit of a scoundrel and a notorious womanizer. He has Abel's colors and Kain's stats.
- A Pegasus knight from Ilia with a timid heart. She is a childhood friend of Lyn's and has two older sisters. Retconned from Est.
- Wil (Archer)
- A cheerful archer from Pherae and a childhood friend of Rebecca. He and Rebecca's brother, Dan, set out to seek their fortunes but were separated. He then joins Lyndis' Legions and a retainer of House Caelin.
- Dorcas (Fighter)
- An axefighter from Bern, who worked for bandits in order to get money for his wife's medicine. He joins Lyn's army in order to redeem himself and later moves to Caelin with his wife.
- Serra (Cleric)
- An outspoken cleric in service to House Ositia. She is flirtatious and thinks highly of herself as a way of masking the loneliness felt in childhood.
- Erk (Mage)
- A charming and uptight anima mage from Etruria, who escorts first Serra to Ositia and then serves as Priscilla's protector. Extremely dedicated to his studies and the student of Pent.

Unlike most of the Kutolah, he is not skilled in archery and instead finds his talent in sword fighting.
