Finnish national men's ice hockey team
The Finnish national men's ice hockey team are one of the more elite ice hockey nations in the world, the IIHF has them ranked fifth. They are governed by The Finnish Ice Hockey Association. Finland's only major international tournament win was in the 1995 World Championships. At the 1998 Winter Olympics they won a bronze medal .
Team Finland finished second at the 2004 World Cup of Hockey, after winning semi-finals against USA and losing the final against Canada. Many consider the 2004 WCH success the team's biggest achievement so far.
Finland has a total of 52,597 players. Their head coach is Erkka Westerlund.
