FiOS

Fios is a fiber to the premises service offered in the United States by Verizon. Verizon has created considerable stir in the area of broadband Internet, as it is the first major U.S. carrier to offer such a service. Fios started as a pilot program in Keller, Texas, but is expanding to other places.

Service offering

There are three tiers of Internet service:

  • 5 Mbit/s Downstream/2 Mbit/s Up Price: $39.95/month
  • 15 Mbit/s Downstream/2 Mbit/s Up Price: $49.95/month
