Fey (singer)

(Redirected from Fey (music))

Fey (born María Fernanda Blásquez Gil in Mexico City, July 21, 1973), is a Mexican pop singer that has been considered one of the best in the decade. After she debuted in 1995 with her CD Fey she was automatically placed as one of the best. Then the next year after launching Tierna la Noche, Fey's world turned upside down; her singles: Azucar Amargo, Te Pertenezco, Subidon and other songs, placed her on the top of the charts. In fact, Azucar Amargo lasted in the Billboard chart for more than 30 weeks. Then, after more than 8 months of absence, she returned in 1998. With a new CD, a new image, and a new spirit, Fey became the most important women of Mexican pop history after making the succesful 10 concerts in 1996 and 5 more on 1998 in Mexico's biggest auditorium, El Auditorio Nacional.

Her new CD, El Color de los sueños, was, like expected, one of the most important productions of 1998. But, on June 1999, Fey shocked Mexico, after announcing her retirement. "I think everyone has their cycle, and this is the end of mine", said the artist. After 4 more years without Fey, she returned with a new CD, Vertigo, which, though, wasnt as important as the past ones, rentroduced Fey to a more grownup crowd, which had waited four years for her return. This 2004, after a year of absence, in order to prepare her new CD, and after having problems with her company Sony Music, Fey has returned, with a new company, a new CD, marriage, and a whole new view towards life. The CD will be launched November 5, and it will be a tribute to the known Spanish group Mecano; with hits like, "Maquillaje", "La Fuerza del destino", "Barco a Venus" and others, Fey plans to return to the public that once sang with her, and made her one of the most important singers to date.
