Fergus O'Brien

Fergus O'Brien was an Irish politician. He was first elected to Dáil Éireann as a Fine Gael TD on his second attempt at the 1973 General Election. He remained in the Dáil until his retirement in 1992. O'Brien lost his seat briefly in 1982. In 1981 he became Government Chief Whip in Garret FitzGerald's first government. He served in that position until 1982. he returned as Chief Whip in FitzGerald's second government in 1986, serving until 1987.
