Fatman is a fictional character from the game Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. He is one of the four surviving member of Dead Cell that appears in the game.
Story
He is a less prominent member of the Dead Cell group specialising in bombs, son of a clockmaker and former student of bomb disposal expert Peter Stillman. He built an atomic bomb when he was just ten years old. Once he also brought a gun to school. Fatman joins Dead Cell to purely demonstrate his skills unlike the other members of the group. It is later revealed his is also a spy from The Patriots used to test Raiden's progress in the S3 Project. If Raiden allows the Big Shell to collapse, Raiden has failed the S3 Project. Fatman is rather eccentric, bordering on insane. He takes his pseudonym from the second atomic bomb, dropped on Nagasaki, which itself was named after Winston Churchill. It should be noted that there is a significant resemblance between Churchill and Fatman.
Battle
In MGS2 he awaits Raiden on the helipad wearing inline skates (possibly due to his portly figure), a bomb blast suit, and sipping red wine from a crystal goblet. He attacks Raiden by bowling into him with the skates and sometimes shooting at him with a pistol. During the battle, Fatman will also place C4 in various locations on the Helipad. Raiden needs to defuse all of these C4 within a set amount of time or the entire Big Shell complex will be destroyed. After Fatman's HP Bar is depleted, his body must be picked up and moved in order to defuse his last C4, under his large dead body.
