Fade (radio)

In radio communications, fade describes the loss of signal strength at the receiver. It may also be used to describe loss of signal clarity due to interference, though this is not technically exact. Fade is caused mostly by conditions in the atmosphere at higher frequencies, and mostly by the ionosphere at lower ones. The Q code for fade is QSB.
