Es (Perry Rhodan)
A superintelligence from the Perry Rhodan science fiction series, who is benevolent towards humanity, but whose actions are often not understood by humanity.
The question why humanity does not seem to have encountered a superintelligence yet is described by the Fermi_paradox. An argument against the existence of advanced civilizations is the Doomsday_argument.
Hints on a possible contact with a super intelligence can be found throughout human history, when deliverances or ruins yield knowledge the people of the epoch in question were unlikely to possess. One example for this are the shape and alignment of egyptian pyramids.
Another example are indications, as the chinese Buddha statue, which depicts a laughing man of gold were a loving man of god is meant. This play on words cannot be of chinese origin, because the chinese did not know the english language and it cannot be of english origin as the statue already existed in ancient china, before the english language came into existence. This play on words seems to have originated without human intervention and purely by chance, which gives reason to meditate.
The search for extraterrestrial intelligence is abbreviated as SETI.
