He has appeared at least once on some Japanese television programs as one of the commentators. That's why he was known well in the world.

Today, he is mostly known as a "Mirrorman" 1 for being arrested on April 8, 2004 because he tried to peep under a high school girl's skirt with his hand mirror at escalator of JR Shinagawa Station.

His professor job was dismissed on May 7, 2004 because of being arrested. And he kept on denying the charges. Really, he held a news conference in Kasumigaseki on August 30, 2004, where he said "I swear by heaven and earth I'm innocent". He emphasized his innocence. (He admitted the charges at first.)

But abundant obscene videos, DVDs and images about peeps, touching the women's body in a sexual way was discovered from his house and car in a domiciliary visit by the police.

Judgment trial to him was opened at Tokyo District Court on March 23, 2005 and the Chief Justice sentenced him to "Paying fine of 500,000 yen (US$ about 4,740) and confiscating his hand mirror".He insisted that it was "unfair judgment" and he showed intention to appeal because he has an objection. But this judgement was established because he didn't make an offer of appeal by deadline on April 6, 2005.

He has a criminal record that he has been made to pay fine of 50,000 yen once on his way from JR Tokaido Main Line Yokohama Station to Kawasaki Station at about 9:20 p.m. on January 30, 1998 because He pinched a face-to-face woman's foot with his foot in the front and did an eccentric conduct to play with his private parts from the top of his pants in a train.

And then,a victim of a woman claimed that "my feeling was bad" to the train's conductor, and he was handed over to Kanagawa prefectural police.

He still assert a false charge, but try to make a comeback to normal life step by step. For example, he hold lectures about economics in each place.

Note 1: The Japanese word "Mirrorman" (ミラーマン), "Tekagamist" (テカガミスト,the pronunciation is tekagamisuto), "Eronomist" (エロノミスト, It's a coined word that it matched "Erotic" + "Economist"). All of names are called on magazines (the weekly etc.) and the Internet. In a word, "Tekagamist" means the person who peeps with hand mirror. A name called "Mirrorman" is most popular.
