Eric Fensler
Eric Fensler is an independent film maker from Chicago.
Fensler is most famous for his series of 25 G.I. Joe Public Service Announcements (PSAs). These are parody remixes of short educational segments found at the end of every G.I. Joe cartoon. Fensler replaced the dialogue of these and even edited the video in some cases. The result was a series of bizzare and often hilarious shorts which have received a cult following on the internet. In one of the PSAs, Joe runs into a burning building in search of "Porkchop Sandwiches;" in another one, a couple of boys are offered a body massage by a soldier in a Jeep.
On September 9, 2004, Eric Fensler received a cease and desist letter from Hasbro forcing him to stop the distribution of the PSAs, as they are allegedly violating their G.I. Joe trademarks and copyrights. The films have been subsequently removed from the FenslerFilm website; however, they are still widely available on the internet.
