Equivalent potential temperature

Equivalent potential temperature is commonly referred to as Theta-e. Theta-e is the temperature of one parcel of air after it was lifted until it became saturated with water vapor, then all the water vapor was condensed out, and finally the parcel is dropped adiabatically to an atmospheric pressure of 1000 millibars.
