End-of-life

End-of-life is a term used with respect to a retailed product, indicating that a vendor will not be doing the following: marketing, selling, promoting or supporting a particular product.

In the computing field, this has significance in software products. Microsoft is notable in this respect for marking Windows 95 for end-of-life. New software written by Microsoft, such as Office XP is notorious for not being supported on Windows 95.
