EnCana
EnCana Corporation (TSX: ECA) (NYSE: ECA) is one of the world's largest independently owned oil and gas companies. Its name comes from the combination of the words Energy, Canada, and Alberta. The company was formed in 2002 with the merger of PanCanadian Energy and Alberta Energy. EnCana is involved in operations in Alberta, the Gulf of Mexico, the Rocky Mountains, Ecuador, the North Sea, and Nova Scotia. There have also been explorations in Australia, Brazil, Libya, and Venezuela.
EnCana had sales of $6 billion in 2002 and is currently headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
