Emeka is usually a nickname derived from the Ibo name Chukwuemeka which means 'God has done great'

There is a novel of this title by Fredrick Forsyth, about and named after Colonel Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, head of the state of Biafra, a republic that seceeded from Nigeria and was briefly independent.
