Embrun, Ontario/Temp
Embrun is a village in eastern Ontario located in the United Counties of Prescott and Russell and situated on the Castor River. It is situated approximately 40km (25 miles) east of the nation's capital Ottawa-Hull on the main Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 417) from Ottawa to Montréal.
At one time, a branch of the New York Central Railroad passed through the town. Now, the old rail bed is used as a recreational bicycle path.
The village was named after the town of Embrun in the Hautes-Alpes region of France and its population is largely (but not exclusively) francophone.
