Asher Ginsberg
Asher Ginsberg (1856 – 1927), also known by the pen name Ahad Ha'am (Hebrew: one of the people, compare with L.L. Zamenhof's Unuel), was one of the great pre-state Zionist thinkers.
The Zionist movement is often divided into three strains: political, cultural, and religious. Ahad Ha'am is considered one of the foremost intellectuals behind cultural Zionism. He believed that in order to truly bring the Jewish nation back together it was necessary to create a new and unique culture that would unify Jews in Zion.
