Edward James Salisbury

Sir Edward James Salisbury, (1886-1978), was a British botanist in the early part of the Twentieth Century. He was director of the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew from 1943 to 1956. In 1946, he was made a knight.

The standard botanical author abbreviation E.Salisb. is applied to species he described.
