Enontekiö

Enontekiö (Eanodat in Northern Sami, Enontekis in Swedish) is a municipality of Finland.

It is located in the province of Lapland and is part of the Lapland region. The municipality has a population of 2,100 and covers an area of 8,463.59 km² of which 413.38 km² is water. The population density is 0.3 inhabitants per km².

Enontekiö has two official languages: Finnish and Northern Sami.

The main village of Enontekiö and the biggest densely populated area is called Hetta (Heahttá in Northern Sami) and about 800 inhabitants live there. Finlands largest waterfall Pihtsusköngäs is located there.
