Durham Bulls

The Durham Bulls are a minor league baseball team based in Durham, North Carolina. The team, which plays in the International League, is the Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays major-league club. The Bulls play in Durham Bulls Athletic Park, located in downtown Durham. The team became more widely known in 1988 following the movie Bull Durham, which starred Kevin Costner and Susan Sarandon.

At the time of Bull Durham, the real Bulls played in a much lower league than they do today; they then were a Class A team playing in the high-A Carolina League. The team jumped to Triple-A in 1998, when the Triple-A leagues expanded by two teams to accommodate the creation of the Devil Rays and Arizona Diamondbacks.

Titles

The Bulls have won the Governors' Cup, the championship of the IL, twice, and played in the championship series 4 times.
