Duke of Beaufort's Hunt
The Duke of Beaufort's Hunt is one of the oldest and largest of the fox hunting groups in England. It was founded by the Duke of Beaufort in 1682 and continued under the auspices of this family until the Parliament made the sport illegal in 2005.
The hunt took place over some 760 square miles in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. It was centered on the estate of the dukes at Badminton. Hunting occurred on about 125 days per year, usually 4 days a week.
