Direct Machine Environment

Direct Machine Environment, abbreviated DME, was a mainframe operating system for the ICL2900 series of computing systems from International Computers Ltd that was developed in the 1970s. DME was more-or-less the ICL1900 series executive ported to the ICL2900 series and allowed the use of the 1900 series program libraries.
