Dil Se is a 1998 bollywood film starring Shahrukh Khan, Manisha Koirala, and Preity Zinta. Mani Ratnam directed the film and wrote the screenplay.
The film was shot in Kashmir, Bhutan, India over a period 55 days. Famed for its visuals, Dil Se was shot in beautiful locations, in deserts, mountains, in snow, and temples. Its cinematography was amazing for its time and although not commercially successful (except in the UK, where it reached the Top 10 in movie charts), the film became very famous due to its songs. The films music, composed by A. R. Rahman introduced a new sound combining electronic music with instruments unheard by Indian audiences. A. R. Rahman received a Filmfare Award for the music while Manisha Koerala received a best actress-critics award for her performance.
Plot
A journalist falls in love with a terrorist. Although they are in love, the actress avoids him as she is a part of a suicide bombing, and knows that she will die. The lead actor chases her throughout the film, and they die in each others arms as the bomb on the actresses body explodes.
