Diesel 10

Diesel 10 is the main villian who features in the 2000 film Thomas and the Magic Railroad. He is voiced by Neil Crone.

Diesel 10 is based around the Diesel-Electric Warship locomotives that were pressed into service on the West Coast between the 1950s and the 1970s. Unlike these diesels, Diesel 10 sports an ochre colour scheme and a large grabber named "Pinchy" on the roof. As his driver is never seen in the film, we must assume that Diesel 10 can move on his own free will.

In the film, it is said that Diesel 10 first came to the Island of Sodor to destroy a plum-coloured tank engine called Lady (Voiced by Britt Allcroft). Diesel 10 was able to force Lady out of control and to crash. While Lady was hidden inside Muffle Mountain to be repaired, Diesel 10 went into hiding. When Lady returned to the Island, Diesel 10 returned to destroy her for good, but derailed on a derelict viaduct and was carried out to sea on a barge. It was never made clear as to why he wished to destroy Lady or where Diesel 10 was taken.

His henchmen are two Class 08 Shunters called Splatter and Dodge. Both are painted grey with their names embossed on either side. Their cabs are painted different to tell the twins apart. Splatter is purple, and Dodge is yellow. They speak with an accent similar to Al Capone, and are rather stupid. They appear in only a few scenes throughout the film, often parked in sidings or in sheds. They are rarely seen in motion, but when they are on the move, they too must be able to move under their own power. They defect from Diesel 10 near the end of the film, but it is not clear where they go afterward.
