Die Off
Die Off (dieoff.org) is a site that predicts a population crash due to a lack of energy. It claims that:
- conventional fossil fuels (conventional oil, natural gas and coal) are running out too quickly for us to do anything
- non-conventional oil is too polluting and will use up too much land and energy to be of very much use
- so-called "renewable energy" resources don't produce enough energy to replace the capital, so they are not really renewable.
Furthermore, it claims that what is currently happening in Africa will soon spread to the rest of the world, and the carrying capacity of the Earth is about 2 billion.
One page is "The Peak of World Oil Production and the Road to the Olduvai Gorge", a paper by Richard C. Duncan that outlines the Olduvai theory and predicts a Malthusian catastrophe.
