Device Manager
A tool included with Microsoft Windows operating systems, the device manager is a tool that can display and control the hardware attacted to a computer running a Windows-based operating system. When a piece of hardware is not working, the offending hardware is highlighted where the user can deal with it. As well as providing control, it also provides a list of hardware, which can be sorted by various criteria.
Users can:
- Supply device drivers for hardware
- Tell Windows to ignore malfunctioning devices
- View a hardware's properties
Running device manager
- Right click My Computer
- Select properties
- Select Device Manager tab
- Right click My Computer
- Select properties
- Select hardware tab
- Click device manager button.
