Detroit-Toledo Expressway

The Detroit-Toledo Expressway is a 30 mile segment of freeway connecting the Ohio (USA) border to the Michigan State Highway 85/Fort St. junction (present-day Exit 28). This segment of freeway was completed in 1957; the first designation for this freeway was ALT US-24. One year later; it became Michigan's first segment of freeway with the I-75 designation.

The construction of this freeway segment coincided the completion of a few other present-day segments of I-75 (e.g. Mackinac Bridge, Fenton-Clio Expressway and the US-2) freeway in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan). At first this segment of freeway was discrete, but now it is part of the national freeway system since it was extended over the years. Cities that this freeway bypasses are: Erie, Luna Pier and Monroe.
