DNV or Det Norske Veritas is a Norwegian company established in 1864. DNV is an independent foundation. Its objectives are "Safeguarding life,property, and the environment" and is a leading provider of services for managing risk.
DNV is a international company with about 300 offices world wide. The headquarters are located at Høvik outside Oslo, Norway.
Currently, 5800 employees are working for DNV in 100 different countries. Together with Lloyd's Register and American Bureau of Shipping DNV is one of the three major companies in the business.
