Minor members of the Order of the Phoenix

This article is about members of the Order of the Phoenix from the Harry Potter books. The Order is a society formed by Albus Dumbledore to fight against Lord Voldemort.

Dedalus Diggle

Dedalus Diggle is a wizard and a member of the Order of the Phoenix and part of the Advance Guard who help Harry escape from the Dursleys house. Diggle was described by Minerva McGonagall as "never having had much sense", after, on the night of November 1, 1980, he released shooting stars over Kent to celebrate the downfall of Lord Voldemort. Diggle wears a violet suit with matching top hat, with a small flower tucked into the brim.

Elphias Doge

Elphias Doge is present at the company that comes to collect Harry and take him to Grimmauld Place.

Frank and Alice Longbottom

Frank and Alice Longbottom are the parents of Neville Longbottom, a Gryffindor boy in the same year as Harry Potter at Hogwarts.

Frank and Alice were tortured to insanity by a group of Death Eaters led by Bellatrix Lestrange, sending Neville to his grandmother's while his parents went to St. Mungo's where they have resided ever since. This was described at the time as one of the most horrific crimes imaginable since Alice and Frank were very popular. Frank was one of the best Aurors the Ministry had, but does not remember anything and is insane.

Neville and his grandmother visit Frank and Alice over the holidays. In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Alice gives Neville a Droobles bubblegum wrapper during his visit at Christmas break (when Harry and his friends are visiting Arthur Weasley); Neville puts it in his pocket even though his grandmother tells him to throw it away. The significance of this incident is hotly debated.

His wand was used by Neville while he attended Hogwarts until it was broken in Order of the Phoenix in the Department of Mysteries.

Frank is assumed to be a few years older than James Potter, Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew, Lily Evans, and Severus Snape, though Rowling has not yet confirmed this.

Sturgis Podmore

Sturgis Podmore’s activities in the first Order are unknown other than the fact that he was one of the few members that did not die or lose their senses. In the reconstituted Order, he was at the Ministry of Magic guarding the Prophecy when he was attacked by a Death Eater and sent to Azkaban.
