DayQuil
Vicks DayQuil is a medicine designed to help relieve many symptoms of a cold that is to be taken orally in either liquid or "LiquiCap" (capsule) form, during the day. Its nighttime counterpart is NyQuil.
Uses
DayQuil is used for the temporary relief of cold symptoms, such as:
- nasal congestion
- sore throat
- headache
- cough
- minor aches and pains
- muscular aches
- fever
Ingredients
DayQuil's active ingredients are:
- Acetaminophen (pain reliever/fever reducer)
- Dextromethorphan (cough suppressant)
- Pseudoephedrine (nasal decongestant)
It should not be taken by people who drink a lot of alcohol, who are taking other medicines containing acetaminophen, or who are using a prescribed monoamine oxidase inhibitor.
