David Jacobs

David Henry Jacobs (April 30, 1888 – June 6, 1976) was a British athlete, winner of gold medal in 4x100 m relay at the 1912 Summer Olympics.

Born in Herne Hill, London, David Jacobs was a member of Herne Hill Harriers.

At the Stockholm Olympics, Jacobs was eliminated in the semifinals of both 100 m and 200 m. As a first leg in the British 4x100 m relay team, he won a gold medal, in spite of finishing second after United States in the semifinal. United States was later disqualified for a fault in passing the baton, the same mistake was made in the final by world record holder and main favourite German team.
