Dave Farrell
David Michael Farrell (aka Phoenix/Phi Phi) is the bass player in the band Linkin Park. He was born on 8 February 1977. He also plays cello, guitar and violin. Phoenix was born and grew up in Plymouth, Massachusetts until later moving to Mission Viejo, California when he was 5. He is a graduate from UCLA. He was raised as a Catholic until 2nd grade, when he went to a Protestant church.
He was a member of Linkin Park before under the name Xero. When they were starting out, Phoenix and fellow bandmate Brad Delson were room-mates so they would go to practice together. He then toured with a Christian punk band called 'Tasty Snax' which later changed their name to just 'The Snax'. He played guitar in this band and then only he changed to bass guitar and stuck with that ever since. He then later rejoined Linkin Park in 2001 after they had released their debut album Hybrid Theory. He plays cello and violin on Linkin Park's Reanimation album.
His greatest inspiration is his mother who taught him how to play guitar. Phoenix's advice is to take naps. He prefers boxer shorts rather than briefs and his favourite movie is Braveheart. His favourite food is Mexican. He likes to play soccer and goes snowboarding too.
Phoenix got married on 28 December 2002; the name of his wife is Linsey Farrell.
