Davao International Airport
Francisco Bangoy International Airport, also called Davao International Airport (DIA) (IATA airport code: DVO, ICAO airport code: RPMD) is the main airport serving Davao City in the Philippines. It is the busiest airport in the Mindanao region and is the only international airport in Mindanao serving actual international flights.
Incidents and accidents
On March 4, 2003, a bomb went off near the terminal building as part of a terrorist attack. At least 19 people died and 157 were injured in the blasts, causing numerous flight cancellations and damage to the terminal building. The building was eventually repaired and operations soon returned to normal.
