Dav Whatmore

Davenell Frederick Whatmore (born March 16, 1954, Colombo, Sri Lanka) is a former international cricketer from Australia. He had a very short international career from March 1979 to January 1980 in which he played just 7 test matches and 1 one day international. At the first class level, he scored over 6,000 runs for Victoria. He retired from professional cricket in 1988/89 to pursue a career in coaching. He is known for having coached the Sri Lankan cricket team. Since 2003, he has been coaching the Bangladeshi cricket team. Although in April 2005, he expressed his desire to continue coaching the team till 2007, he has also applied for being appointed as coach of Indian cricket team.
