DataSnap

DataSnap (see MIDAS) is a COM Based Software Technology that enables RAD creation of Multi-tier database applications for the win32 environment. DataSnap components approach allows Borland Software Development Tools such as Delphi or C++ Builder to create Data Broker/Client applications with TCP/IP, DCOM, HTTP or even SOAP transport protocols.

Midas is the former name for this technology, that first appeared on Delphi version 3. It was replaced by DataSnap in version 5.
