Daren Van Den Bussche

Daren Van Den Bussche is a politician in Manitoba, Canada. In the Canadian federal election of 2004, he was a candidate for the New Democratic Party in the riding of Portage--Lisgar.

Van Den Bussche was born and raised in the Portage--Lisgar riding, and continues to live in the area. He works as a firefighter and paramedic, and has taken part in numerous activities relating to community safety. He has also served as an Area Vice President of the Manitoba Federation of Labour.

Van Den Bussche defeated two other candidates to win the NDP nomination in Portage--Lisgar. He called for more federal infrastructural money to be put into the riding, and openly opposed Canada's gun registry. The riding was not targeted as winnable by the party, and he received only 3251 votes, 9.34 of the total.
