Danica Patrick

Danica Sue Patrick (b. March 25, 1982) is a professional race car driver in the Indy Racing League. Born in Roscoe, Illinois, USA, she began karting in 1992. On her ascent up the ladder, she has focused primarily on road racing with seasons in Europe, the Toyota Atlantic Championship and finally to the Indy Racing League. In 2004, Patrick finished third in the Toyota Atlantic Championship for Rahal-Letterman Racing. During May, 2005, Patrick will attempt to become the third female to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 driving for Rahal/Letterman Racing. She will team with Vitor Meira and defending race winner Buddy Rice.

On May 12, 2005, Patrick posted the fastest speed of 227.633 MPH in practice for the Indianapolis 500. The feat of being the fastest driver in a practice session has only been accomplished by one other female, Sarah Fisher.

Patrick also hosts many TV shows on Spike TV.
