Dahaka

The Dahaka is an invincible incarnation of Fate in the Ubisoft video game Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. The Dahaka was created after the Prince of Persia survived the events of The Sands of Time. Since the Prince had manipulated time and cheated his own death, the Dahaka was created with the sole purpose of hunting him down and eliminating him from the Timeline. Regardless of what the Prince does, or how long he runs, the beast will catch and kill him sooner or later. It is inevitable.

Several sequences in the game involve the Prince fleeing from the Dahaka as it chases him through a series of obstacles. Should the Dahaka catch up to the player, it will grab him with the tentacles that it can extend from its chest, turn him to sand, and then absorb him (the Dahaka's victims are not so much killed as deleted). It is discovered during the course of the game that the Dahaka has an intense aversion to water – contact with it hurts the creature. The player must use this against the Dahaka in order to survive.

In Zoroastrian Persian mythology, Dahaka is an alternate name for Azhi Dahaka.
