As senior Cerebrate, Daggoth frequently advised other Cerebrates on how they could best serve the Zerg Overmind. Sometimes his advice took the form of orders.
In order to support his own operations, Daggoth had access to the Hunter Killer, a special and powerful type of Hydralisk.
Daggoth advised the Overmind's newest Cerebrate, in charge of Infested Kerrigan's chrysalis, including providing Hunter Killers to aid in the defeat of the remnant of Tassadar's forces on the space platforms over Tarsonis.
Upon arrival of the chrysalis at the planet Char, its psionic emanations drew the attention of Terrans, such as Arcturus Mengsk, who dispatched General Edmund Duke to recover it.
The new Cerebrate's Brood drove Duke away, but Daggoth ordered him to hold back – his own Tiamat Brood would deal with him. Duke, however, managed to escape and even establish a small colony on the world.
While Daggoth was distracted chasing Duke down, Jim Raynor and Raynor's Raiders were able to land on Char and make their own try for the chrysalis. Fortunately for the Zerg, he failed.
The product of the chrysalis, Infested Kerrigan, immediately began a quest to empower her psionic abilities. Doing so required her to infiltrate a Terran science vessel, the Amerigo, and collect information on the Terran Ghost program. Daggoth provided her with a pair of Hunter Killers to protect her during her search.
When she was finished, Daggoth suggested leaving them behind, in a disabled transmission. During the following video, Terrans approached the vessel with the intention of destroying it. The Hunter Killers failed to prevent the destruction of the vessel, but they did prevent the Terrans from escaping.

Shadow Hunters
Kerrigan's new psionic powers led her into confrontation with Tassadar, which turned out to be a distraction. While she sought Tassadar, the Dark Templar Prelate, Zeratul, slew Zasz. His attack permanently slew the Cerebrate, silencing the Overmind and driving the Garm Brood into insanity.
Daggoth moved decisively in the Overmind's absense. He ordered the newest Cerebrate to destroy the Garm Brood, as it's presence threatened the primary Hive Clusters. In addition, he authorized a test of the newest Zerg breed, the Defiler. It was a complete success.
After the Overmind awakened, Daggoth assisted Infested Kerrigan in her revenge attack on the Dark Templar, which was partially successful.
Daggoth's later actions are unknown until StarCraft: Brood War, but most likely he remained on Char.
The Succession
Shortly after the permanent death of the first Zerg Overmind at the hands of the Protoss hero Tassadar, an attack which cost Tassadar his own life, Daggoth and Infested Kerrigan both vied for control of the Zerg. Each ended up with control of about half the Zerg Swarm. Daggoth ordered several Cerebrates to fuse, creating a new Overmind. It is not known if Daggoth himself joined with these Cerebrates. The new Overmind was immature and weaker than the first one.
Daggoth's fate is unknown. The second Overmind was permanently killed near the end of Episode VI by Zeratul, a Dark Templar. If Daggoth were part of this second Overmind, then he is now dead.
Game Unit
While Daggoth has identical game stats and abilities as other Cerebrates, his unit portrait is different. Throughout StarCraft: Brood War, his portrait is used, in place of the Overmind's, on virtually all Zerg structures.
