Dado blade

A Dado blade is a type of saw blade designed to create a wide groove in material. There are two common kinds of dado blades.

The first kind consists of cutting blades that stack to on the mandrel to form the different thicknesses. This kind requires disassembly to change the thickness.

The other kind consists of a circular blade on a special hub that allows it to be tilted to create the wide cut.
