Dactylis glomerata is a common grass, also called cocksfoot and orchard grass. It is widely distributed in Europe, Asia and North Africa, and is extensively naturalized in the United States. Used as hay grass and for pastures because it yields. In Australia it has therefore become popular, too.
Dactylis Glomerata suffers from the same viruses as other grasses: Leaf rust etc.
There seems to be many varieties adapting to dry summers, acid ground and decorative varieties too, for edging gardens and such, and it competes well with weeds. Using plants like these which thrive everywhere will make gardening a joy for you.
