Cyberathlete Professional League

The Official CPL Logo

The Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) was founded in 1997 by Angel Munoz as a professional sports tournament for computer gamers. The CPL holds tournaments throughout the USA and Europe, and has hosted a variety of teams usually regarded as the best in their respective games. Teams are required to pass a series of qualifying tournaments before being admitted into paying tournaments, and as of early 2005, the CPL has dispursed more than $2,000,000 USD in prize money. The CPL is aiming to take computer gaming to another level. They are a driving force in eSports and are widely respected as a major player in online competition.
